Need Toys? Win some now!

Today I went out to meet some Sydney craft royalty and I thought I'd drop a couple of toys in Surry Hills on my way. But alas it was pouring rain and, despite the little members of The Toy Society wearing their rain coats, I couldn't bring myself to abandon them on a light pole to wait for their new owners.

So my loss is your gain. I'm going to sew some more toys tonight so instead of taking them out again tomorrow I'm going to give them to you.

If you want to win these three toys to use for a drop in your city/town/bus stop then leave a comment and tell me where you plan to drop these members of The Toy Society. I'll choose the winner this time next week (Fri 4pm, Sydney Australia time). Everyone is welcome to enter, wherever you are in the world. Feel free to spread the word!

The toys come all packaged up and ready to be hung on your local light pole/tree branch/fence etc!

Oh and if you've got a toy you'd like to donate for a drop, please email thetoysocietyatgmail.com.

PS Details coming very soon about using your own toys for a drop in your own city.

A drop in my city...FUN!
...I'm in Shelton, WA and I'd leave a toy on the bus bench by the library, or by a cross walk down town!

i would definatly love to do a drop here in bendigo, vic. if i could i would leave them on hanging from one of the fences that are surrounding our new mall redevelopment, or on the side of the local T.A.F.E building, or maybe even at the Y.M.C.A on the top of the rock climbing wall!

I would love to do a drop - I could leave them somewhere historical in ballarat...maybe at the botanical gardens? Or at the Eureka centre!

I'm in Perth, and I'd drop one toy at the bell tower, and another at a nice picnic spot by the river! Not sure about the third... maybe near my Nanna's retirement village, to keep some lonely old lady company?

I promise to send photos!

First of all congratulations for this wonderful initiative!

I would love to do a drop in Rome, Italy. Famous places could be a possibility (such as the Colosseo, Fontana di Trevi, Piazza di Spagna, Piazza Navona) but people in their touristic enthousiasm might not pay enough attention to other lovely details. So less crowded areas might be better.

What a gorgeous idea! Good on you. I'd love to help share the love and would drop some members off at the bollards at the beach or the carousel or maybe along the river in Geelong, Vic.

Can't wait for the details, I have softs waiting for a good home! We're in Vero Beach, FL and head to Miami twice a month....plus I'm heading to Knoxville for training in a few weeks...so I would spread them around. World traveling toys!

I'd leave them on the path that runs along the foreshore. There's lots of people that cycle, walk their dogs, etc. along there so they'd be sure to be picked up and taken to a good home.
Oh, and it would be a good excuse for me to have a coffee at the cafe down there.

I live in Pittsburgh, PA and would love to do a drop near the children's museum, or in Latrobe, PA where Mr. Rogers from Mr. Roger's Neighborhood is from.

I'd love to leave one very near the housing commission flats in my suburb. I will secretly hope that a lovely little girl or boy will spot their new found toy and take it home to love.

This is such a fabulous idea. I live in Southern California, USA, and I think I'd leave a softie at the gym, which I just joined recently, or over near the high school for someone who is studying hard this summer. I'm sure those cuties will get a good home no matter where in the world they are.

Where oh where would I place a toy,
that could be found by a little girl or boy?

The park,the library, the mall?
A random corner near a wall?

I hope whoever finds it,
Loves it with all their heart;

And maybe starts to spread the joy
That was brought to them by a toy.

I live near St. Louis, MO (USA) so the possibilities of places to leave a little friend are endless. I don't want to commit to one place, because I feel like when I find the "right" place I'll know and then I could place the little fellow to be found.

I'd do a drop right inside our children's museum here in Pittsburgh. There are always so many little ones running around... Over by the lockers would be a terrific finding place ;)

I'd love to do a few drops here in Texas! I live near a residential area, so I'd probably attach the toys to trees near the bus stops.

This is a great giveaway :D

I find this entire concept very interesting! OH I wish I knew how to sew so I could make some toys to drop!! I have always wanted to learn, maybe I just will do it!

I would LOVE to win these and drop them in Bozeman, MT. We have a lot of old buildings on Main street and around downtown, from the 1800's. I would place these on trees or light posts where a child would be sure to find them and get a big surprise!

I think we need to have a drop here on the west coast of the US! I think some nice San Diego weather would be perfect for these little guys. The Ocean Beach farmers Market or Balboa Park would be lovely drop places.
This is such an awesome idea! I would love to participate!

The beautiful Northwest - Spokane Washington, USA is calling to these little guys. They would look great outside our local library, at the soccer fields, or even hanging out around the city pool!

I can hardly wait to participate in this!

hi. i'm from cape cod, massachusetts. i would drop one near the baby center, (where low income families get free necessities for their littles), one near the pond where kiddos play, and one at the playground at the elementary school they closed due to lack of funding, but kids still go to play.

I'd love to do a few drops here in Iowa City, Iowa. Possible locations would be the pedestrian mall downtown, the public library, the recreation center, any of several parks ...

Erin said...

I would love to drop them here in Washington State! There is a great kids' park downtown that would be a good spot, as well as near the low-income health clinic!

guineababy said...

I would leave one on a fence located next to my neighborhood's elementary school, one next to a low income housing area where I've seen lots of children playing, and I think it would be fun to leave one tied to a shopping cart at a local store.

John Steinbeck country here...we could sure use a few of those happy little creatures here on the Central Coast of California! It would be neat to leave one in the hospital emergency room (there's always kids in need of a cuddle) and there are numerous places downtown that could use a few surprises!
