Toy 116 has found a home!

My boss found this toy at the Eaton, Ohio post office and brought it back to work for me to give to my daughters. My 7 year old loves him!

We are going to continue to follow the Toy Society's actions! What a neat idea!

subjectThank you for the toy

Hello, my name is Kerrie.

I am currently living at Ronald McDonald House Westmead whilst my 2 year old son has Chemotherapy to treat his Luekeamia. We live in Bellingen NSW and found out about Alex's cancer 3 days before Christmas. Since then there hasnt been alot to smile about.

We take alot of walks as Alex also has a rare blood bacteria which means he can not play with the other immune suppressed children. He isnt allowed in communal areas including Starlight room, Playgrounds etc. His life is spent in issolation. Try telling a 2 yr old he cant play on the swings!! Its frustrating as we have a swing set and lots of activities at home but at the unit in issolation we have a courtyard with nothing in it.

Im telling you all of this so you can really know how much finding your beautiful little hand made boy toy today on one of our walks really means. As it was on the Rememberance Statue i initially thought it was left as a token and when it said "Read Me" I thought it may have a story of significance. Alex thought he was lovely and smiled from ear to ear (something we dont see often these days). When i read he could keep him i litterally teared up with emotion. These are trying days and such a beautiful act of kindness should be recognised.

Thank you so much from my family and especially Alex. You gave a little 2 year old boy going through the biggest fight of his life a reason to smile. He now has a friend to keep him company, he has called him 'Yellow'. I have as little reason as to know why?? but thats the name he's chosen. As i write this he is watching 'Bob the builder' with 'Yellow' perched beside him.

So, Yes your beautiful toy has found a very good home with a very deserving boy and i am eternally gratefull. Such a wonderful thing to do. May God Bless you and watch over you.

With sincere gratitude;

Kerrieanne

Hi my name is Maureen,

on valentines day my husband went for a walk at the beach at Werribee south whilst I was visiting with my daughter and grandchildren.

He returned home with a lovely heart cushion with little hearts of many colors stitched on it, I thought he had bought it for me for valentines day, but alas as he told us his tale of finding it tied to a picnic table (and I admonished him for pinching someone's valentine), but after logging on to your web site I am delighted to relay his story. several people approach the cushion and read the tag, one lady even commented that it may be a bomb, they all walk on and left it behind, My hubby squeezed it determined it was not a bomb and brought it home for our 10 week old granddaughter. So when she is older we will tell her the story of how she came to have this special cushion thanks to her Poppadon, and the generosity of a special person out there.

Maureen.

subjectDoll found in Blackwells- Oxford- UK

Dear Toy Society,

Today, while my baby son and I were escaping the house and leaving the tears and frustration of the lost hours of sleep and the hours of jiggling and rocking behind, I spotted a very lovely and very lost 'mummy' doll in Blackwells, the Bookshop in Oxford, UK.

That little 'mummy' doll put a smile on my face, and made me realise how special the job of parenting is, and how special each little boy and girl is. The 'mummy' doll is now a member of our family, and she is a reminder of how the world is full of love and mystery and excitement! She will accompany my son in his voyage through the world of growing up.

Thank you for cheering up a new mother who is still teaching her little one how to sleep and eat and love.....

With much gratitude.

Kate.

What a gorgeous and wonderful thing! I felt so lucky to be the one to pick up this beautifully made owl. My 3 children were enchanted with 'Owl' and I'm so pleased they got to experience such a lovely random act of kindness in these times of deliberately lit bushfires and fathers throwing children off bridges. I'm afraid it's all been a bit too much for them to process.

Owl will be treasured in our happy home forever, along with the story of how she came to be.

thank you very much.
