More Fishghost

I've been doing some work on Fishghost. I am really liking where he's at. I'm especially liking the new fluffiness of fishghost.

Now to start working on getting this into a pattern that will be available here on the blog.

Winner

Sorry I'm a bit late with this one, I've been head down bum up sewing... actually I've been sick but you don't need to hear about that. I found it next to impossible to choose a winner for the first Toy Society Giveaway so in my weakness I turned to my trusty friend the Random Number Generator and it told me that Stacey from Sheeps Clothing has won the bag of toys.

So, don't hate me, hate the number generator thingy ok? No hard feelings anyway cause I've got some sweet stuff up my sleeve for another giveaway soon.

FOUND! Drop #5

FOUND!

***************
Hi,

I just wanted you to know that my son Jacob, who is 4 years old, and his cousin Eloise, who is 5 years old, found your little monster on a portage during a canoe trip in Algonquin Park.

They were very excited about finding him -it really made their day! They have decided that he will live with Jacob in Schomberg, but they will both share him. Eloise is from Nova Scotia.
Thanks so much for that little surprise. It was so fun for the kids!

Attached is a photo of the two of them

Thanks,

Ashley

Drop #5

Dropped: Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada

Number of toys: 3 - dropped at the Joe Lake Camp Site, Joe Lake Portage and the Portage Store parking lot on Canoe Lake

Made by: Meeka, "Titanium Hip"

Dropped by: Meeka

When: 1st July 2008

And: This drop was the first test for The Toy Society going global. It was in a place I had never thought the Toy Society would go as I'd always imagined the project being an urban thing. But you know what, I love it and with so many people wanting to get involved the project is taking on new shapes I never could have imagined. So, with this drop down I'm getting closer to finalising details for all of you to do this too. Thanks Meeka!

DROP #4

Dropped: Circular Quay, Sydney, Australia

When: Saturday 5 June 08

And: This wasn't quite the kind of area I had in mind to do Toy Society drops, but I was passing through and had a couple of members of the Society with me and thought the tourists could do with something other than the sites to look at. Not sure if I'll hear back about this one though.

And The Toy Society is alive and kicking over at Flickr now. And there's a Toy Society group you can join. The group will become part of the process for doing a drop in your city so go join now!

Now I'm off to work on some new soft toy designs that have come about from a collaboration care of this drop.

PS Don't forget to enter the competition to win a bag of toys to do a drop in your city!

Need Toys? Win some now!

Today I went out to meet some Sydney craft royalty and I thought I'd drop a couple of toys in Surry Hills on my way. But alas it was pouring rain and, despite the little members of The Toy Society wearing their rain coats, I couldn't bring myself to abandon them on a light pole to wait for their new owners.

So my loss is your gain. I'm going to sew some more toys tonight so instead of taking them out again tomorrow I'm going to give them to you.

If you want to win these three toys to use for a drop in your city/town/bus stop then leave a comment and tell me where you plan to drop these members of The Toy Society. I'll choose the winner this time next week (Fri 4pm, Sydney Australia time). Everyone is welcome to enter, wherever you are in the world. Feel free to spread the word!

The toys come all packaged up and ready to be hung on your local light pole/tree branch/fence etc!

Oh and if you've got a toy you'd like to donate for a drop, please email thetoysocietyatgmail.com.

PS Details coming very soon about using your own toys for a drop in your own city.
